 Calvary Cross Country stand out Joshua Hudson has been chosen as the Athlete of the Week and was featured on KSLA Channel 12 news at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 30.Hudson is the reigning junior high state cross country champion and was voted "hardest worker" by his cross country team members last fall. He is also considered one of the fastest 18 and under cyclists in the region. Currently Hudson is training with some other members of the CBA cross country team to compete in the River Cities Triathlon scheduled for Aug. 1. This race will include a half-mile swim, an 18.2 mile bike, and a 5K run. Cross Country members do this for endurance training in preparation for the upcoming cross country season. This triathlon is noted as one of the largest in the South. Josh will be a freshman at Calvary this year and also excels academically in the classroom. Hudson and Hunter Gauntlett, both from Calvary, have made Calvary back-to-back winners of the KSLA Athlete of the Week Award. |
