Calvary's Shelley McMillian was voted the Girls' All-State Soccer Coach of the Year by her peers this past weekend. McMillian's Lady Cavalier soccer team surprised most local and state soccer fans by making it all the way to the Louisiana semifinals before bowing out to St. Louis of Lake Charles. McMillian, who coached both boys and girls varsity teams at Calvary, has won well-more than 500 games in her coaching career. Student-athletes on the Calvary soccer team also reaped rewards from those who cast votes in the All-State balloting. Luke Nicholls, Caroline Tullos, Rachel Vizza and Katie Jayde Cunningham made Second Team All-State. Six senior soccer players from Calvary made the Academic All-State Soccer Team. They included Leighton Falcon, Lindsey Kosin, Jake Goodwin, Trey Hudgens, Hunter Gauntlett and Jordan Legg. |
