Calvary soccer players get MVP All-District

Calvary Lady Cavalier soccer player, Katie Jayde Cunningham only has five more years to play her chosen sport as a high school athlete. You see, the All-District Offensive MVP is only in the seventh grade.

The big announcement came Wednesday night after the district soccer coaches got together for their annual meeting to select those who stood above the rest in league competition.

Calvary sophomore Caroline Tullos would be named to the first team All-District along with fellow team mates Annah Graves and Rachel Vizza.

Making noise on the second team All-District are Nicole Kosin, Rachel Hamm and another seventh grader, Kaityln Maloney.

Leighton Falcon and Lindsey Kosin would be selected for the Honorable Mention team.

The guys from Calvary fared well with Luke Nicholls getting the nod as MVP on offense and John Vizza taking the MVP on defense.

Calvary's coach, Shelley McMillian would be voted the Boys' District Coach of the Year for leading both her teams to the playoffs their first year after being allowed to play up in classification to 4-A.

Brian Baronette, Jake Goodwin, Trey Hudgens and Drew Sears would all garner first team All-District honors for the Cavaliers.

James Kunkel and Landon Roach would finish with second team honors and Hunter Gauntlett and Blaine Scott made the Honorable Mention squad for Calvary.
